Heatstroke and cholinergic blockers

For a geriatric patient who takes a cholinergic blocker and lives in a warm climate or an area with hot summers, discuss the increased risk of heatstroke. The risk is even greater in those patients with cardiovascular disease. Instruct the geriatric patient to remain indoors during hot weather, use an air conditioner or fan, and drink plenty of cool liquids.
